I ran out to Kuhn' & Giant Eagle after dinner.  I really needed to get out of the house...sad but true.  Grocery shopping was my escape.  My kids were in full on crazy mode today and drove me nutso!  And well, saving money always puts a smile on my face! :-)

At Kuhn's, I paid 76¢ for $7.96 worth of Pringles for a savings of over 90%!

Yes, I went to Kuhn's just for Pringles.  The Giant Eagle near our house doesn't carry these.   Plus we were out of chips and I want to kids to try multi-grain chips.  I'm hoping they like or the husbter does because I'm not much of a chip person.

I could only buy 4 of these at once do to coupon restrictions and store coupon policy.

30 Minute Freezer Cooking Session

I have to admit over the summer I really slacked off on freezer cooking.  We had so many fun things to do, I just never really thought about it much.  Now that we are back into our school time routine, I figured it was time to whip up a few family favorites!

I made 3 different recipes in about 30 minutes.  Now we are stocked up on breakfast foods & a healthy after school snack!

Here's what I made:

Baked Oatmeal- 1 recipe split into 2 pie pans.  One pan will feed my family of 4!

Oven French Toast- 1 recipe or 16 slices.  This is great for busy mornings!  Just pop in the toaster and voila!

No Bake Energy Bites- 1 Recipe or about 20 bites.  These are great for a snack.  I don't freeze them, just store them in the fridge.  These never last long in my house!

This week I plan to make homemade refried beans(without the fat or refry part) in the crockpot.  Look for that recipe in the coming days!

It doesn't take long to get a lot accomplished.  And this may not look like much but I think for 30 minutes worth of work, it's pretty good!

Today's trip didn't go as planned.  It was pretty much a bust in my eyes.  There were several deals I wanted that gave Bonus FuelPerks, unfortunately I only scored one because of out of stock shelves and the lack of labeling on the stores part. 

  The deal with General Mills cereal could have been great but the end cap display was pretty much empty.  None of the Cheerios were marked as being part of the sale, even though the ad has a picture of them.  I did ask someone and they didn't have a clue.  Today is pretty busy for us and I really didn't have time to run all around the store to find someone who knew what was on sale and what isn't.  So I just got everything else I needed and headed home.  

My savings this week wasn't great but I'm ok with that since I've saved a TON at CVS this past week.  There weren't any real good produce deals at Giant Eagle this week, so I stocked at Bottom Dollar on our veggies & fruits the other day!  I really love going there for produce!

I've been to CVS more this week for deals then I have in months.  There are so many Moneymakers and Stock Up deals this week, it's seriously unbelievable!  This shopping trip was all about stocking up on hair products.  The prices can't be beat and if you have these coupons lying around, RUN to CVS and do this deal!

I paid $8.56 for $82.32 worth of hair products for a savings of nearly 90%!!  I also earned $10 ECBs, which makes this a $1.44 MoneyMaker!!

I did this is 2 transactions due to the restrictions on the coupon.  Only 4 "like" coupons can be redeemed at a time.  I'm not going to break down each transaction since they are identical.  I'll give you summary of everything I bought.

So here's the deal...when you purchase one shampoo along with a conditioner or styler you can use one coupon.  When the coupon is scanned, it automatically deducts $6.99(the max value of the coupon) even though the products are only $4 each with the current sale.  This is way this deal is so sweet!  Are we cheating the system?  In my opinion, NO we are not.  CVS will get $6.99 back plus an 8¢ handling fee for each coupon redeemed.  So they too will be making money on this deal!
