Challenge: 30 Days to an Organized Home--Day 2

Challenge: 30 Days to an Organized Home--Day 2

Good Morning!  I hope Day 1 went well for all of you.  Today's assignment might be a little bit more time consuming for some.

Assignment #2

Under the Kitchen Sink

When I was brainstorming about this project several weeks ago, under the kitchen sink was the first thing that popped in my head.  Why??  Because mine in an utter & complete mess!

Start by removing everything from under your kitchen sink.  Clean the area well and allow to dry completely.  While you are waiting for your cabinet to dry, make your 3 piles(just like you did with the junk drawer).

  • Things that stay
  • Things that belong elsewhere
  • Things to donate or go in the trash
While your doing this, take a good look at the cleaners & such that you have.  Do you have multiple bottles of the exact same cleaner?  If so, combine them(ONLY if they exactly the same.  Mixing different chemicals can be dangerous).  Do you have old worn out sponges or scrubbies?  Get rid of anything you no longer need.
If you choose to, line your cabinet with contact paper or non adhesive shelf liner.
When you start putting your products back under your sink, group like items together or you can group things you use together.  Such as, bathroom cleaning supplies together.  It's up you how you organize your cabinet.  Do whatever will work best for you.

Frugal Tip: If you don't have baskets for under your sink, try using a few shoe boxes or other small boxes.  You can wrap them in scrap booking or gift wrap to spruce them up.
After you get your cabinet organized, give yourself a good pat on the back for a job well done!

Check back at 9pm for my update, pictures & linky!

Live Frugal.  Live Happy.
